From Shakespeare to Maxfield Parrish and Right Into the Present: Artwork, Books and Performances of Passionate Artists
At Butternut Arts, the plays of Shakespeare, the art and life of Maxfield Parrish and his family, and contemporary works of poetry and passion all come to life. We are the contemporary Cornish Arts Colony, descendants of the Colony members famous from 1875 to 1916, and true to the fertile artistic community and the celebration of the art, performance, and authorship our great-grand-parents created.

Bringing the Bard to Life
Shakespeare
Together with our community youth and adults, we have been staging full-length Shakespeare plays for over 25 years. We now turn our attention to establishing an annual Shakespeare Festival, the first of which will take place in September, 2021. Please let us know if you are interested in preparation for or participation in this exciting new venture!
